SAN MANUEL INDIAN BINGO & CASINO

San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino is really prospering – - and off of your dollar! We visited here for the first time in almost two years! This place has really taken off like a rocket! When we were here before it was a nice casino . . Now San Manuel is total caos! The space of the casino floor has tripled! The upstairs which has the grand showroom now also houses slot machines and gaming tables!
There were in upwards of 15,000 people in the casino area! What a total mess! Smokers and smoke everywhere! Not an environmentally friendly place at all! The non smokers room was not large at all and smoke was rolling into that room as it was not totally an enclosed room! We noticed that most of the penny slots had been replaced with newer slots that require a person to put at least 50 cents into the machine for every pull! The average person was spending wayyyyy too much money on the slots with little return back! There were no “bells” ringing – which means there were no bonuses being rewarded! Winners are very few at San Manuel!
The food court which used to have great food values now has very high prices! The take out food was over priced. The monthly brochure that San Manuel sends it’s members now has no more food value coupons, so you pay top dollar for all food! They now have a “fine dining” restaurant with extra high prices! We noticed, there is no more public relations staff to welcome you, you are just a “customer” who is worth so much money and that is it! There is no hospitality at this place at all! If you want stress, lots of smoke and want to spend all of your money, then this is the place for you!
All in all – San Manuel is doing fine – financially, but – they are doing fine off of your dollar! Do yourself a favor – if you want to play cards, gamble, play the slots, just go to Las Vegas, Primm, or Jean, Nevada and have a great time where your business will be appreciated and you will get monthly rewards and values with your players card! There are less people and you can actually relax and enjoy yourself!

COWBOY FESTIVAL – APRIL 22-25, 2010
AT: MELODY RANCH MOTION PICTURE STUDIOS

IT AIN’T COUNTRY – IT’S COWBOY!
The Cowboy Festival was held again this year at the famous Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio. The Melody Ranch served as the setting for many western movies and television shows – including The Lone Ranger,Gunsmoke, and Hopalong Cassidy.
The Cowboy Festival celebrates authentic cowboy culture and music, which focuses on the lives of the cowboys, ranchers, vaqueros and the men and women who worked the land during 1800’s America.
“The best way to explain Cowboy culture is: in Cowboy Music you lose your horse or your life – in Country Music you lose your dog or your wife,” said Mike Fleming, Festival Director for the 2010 Cowboy Festival. “The Cowboy Festival features two days chock full of non-stop music, great food and countless activities designed to transport attendees back to true Old West.”
At the festival guests experienced trick ropers, blacksmiths and more on Main Street, they caught live performances by some of the most popular Cowboy musical acts and multicultural performers, and browsed more than 20 storefronts for authentic western gear at the Festival. Guests also also were able to chow down on delicious food, including dutch oven peach cobbler and chuck wagon cooking.
Kids had a blast at the Cowboy Festival with hands-on activities and a Buckaroo Bookshop to purchase books for all ages and attend author readings and signings. We saw kids that were able to learn a few rope tricks from cowboys who were there to show them all sorts of rope knots and tricks right in the middle of the cowboy movie sets.
There were costumes galore, guests seem to love to get involved in the action of the moment. We spoke to many who had gone to great efforts to create the perfect costume for this event. We are publishing the best costumes that we saw there on the main street of this event.
RUSTY RICHARDS AND GRACE BRANDT

RUSTY RICHARDS FROM “SONS OF THE PIONEERS”
We were able to catch the show with Rusty Richards and his group. He is the remaining survivor of the famous cowboy singing group “Sons Of The Pioneers”. They sang many famous old west songs, but they got a standing ovation on their “Tumblin’ Tumbleweeds”!
